CNPC Wins USD570 Million Pipeline Project in Saudi Arabia

(Yicai Global) July 12 — China National Petroleum Corporation, the country’s biggest crude oil producer, has bagged a CNY3.8 billion (USD570 million) contract to build an 844-kilometer long pipeline for the Saudi Arabian Oil Company.

The Beijing-based firm’s China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering subsidiary will carry out the project at Haradh field in the east of the Middle Eastern state, a statement said. The work is expected to take some 38 months.

The official signing and smooth implementation of the work can consolidate and expand SAOC’s engineering construction business in oil and gas storage and transmission, the Dharan-based firm said.

The project requires the technical transformation of 476 single wells in Haradh as well as the new constriction of manifold stations, block valve rooms, receivers and launchers as well as a process pipe network.
