Dongfeng Motor Plans to Build Dealership AI Management Platform

(Yicai Global) April 30 — Chinese carmaker Dongfeng Motor Company recently struck a deal with artificial intelligence firm Chongqing Zhongke Yuncong Technology to use face recognition, heat map tracking and traffic statistics for system of daily management of its car dealerships.

This system upgrade is set to activate in the second half.

Zhongke Yuncong Technology will provide Wuhan, Hubei province-based Dongfeng Motor with complete artificial intelligence solutions, including store traffic statistics and user trajectory heat map analyses to enable it to make car-buying plans for users based on their habits, according to information released on the website of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area’s Digital Economy Industrial Park, which is home to Zhongke Yuncong Technology.

A heat map is a graphical data representation in which specific values in a matrix appear as colors.

AI technology will also be applied to the monitoring and access control systems of Dongfeng Motor’s stores, realizing functions such as face login, payment and identification of after-sales service engineers.

Dongfeng Motor has over 700 stores in China. Formed in 2006, Zhongke Yuncong Technology owns the core face recognition technology, and now has finance, security and airport sector projects. It has developed into an AI unicorn, per media reports.
