North Korea’s H-Bomb Test Didn’t Threaten Chinese Environment or Public, MEP Says

(Yicai Global) Sept. 4 — North Korea’s hydrogen bomb test on Sunday did not cause any pollution in China’s bordering northeastern provinces, the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection said in a press briefing today.
Data collected by the automatic radiation-monitoring stations showed that the real-time air absorbed dose rate remained in the background range as of 4.00 a.m. on Sept. 4.
The data also shows that China’s air quality was unaffected, the ministry added.
China has expressed firm opposition to and strong condemnation of the hydrogen bomb test.
North Korea has successfully tested a hydrogen bomb designed to be mounted on its newly developed intercontinental ballistic missile, its state media reported on Sunday.
